Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 13th instalment of financial benefits worth ₹ 16,800 crore to over eight crore eligible farmers under the flagship PM KISAN scheme on Monday ahead of Holi and rabi harvesting.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM KISAN), eligible farmers are provided with a financial benefit of ₹ 6,000 per year in three equal instalments of ₹ 2,000 each every four months. The fund is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

PM Kisan 13th Installment Status Check 2023: The 13th installment of the PM-Kisan scheme will be released today on 27 February 2023. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 13th installment during a program in Belagavi, Karnataka, which will be transferred through DBT. An amount of Rs 16,800 crore will be credited to the bank accounts of more than eight crore farmers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is releasing the 13th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana on Monday 27 February 2023. He will release the 13th installment during a program in Belagavi, Karnataka. According to media reports, this time PM Modi will transfer Rs 16,800 crore for the 13th installment and from which more than 8 crore farmers will get direct benefit.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a GOI’s scheme. PM Modi launched this scheme on 24 February 2019 in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. Under this scheme, the GOI gives Rs. 6000 in a year to all the marginal farmers of the country. The money given to the farmers in three equal installments and the special thing is that the installment is directly transferred to the farmers’ account. PM Modi has released 12 installments so far.

About PM Kisan Yojana

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a scheme launched by the Government of India in 2019 to provide financial assistance to farmers across the country. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive an income support of Rs. 6,000 per year, payable in three installments of Rs. 2,000 each, directly to their bank accounts.

Implementation of PM KISAN Scheme

The implementation of the PM KISAN scheme is done in a phased manner. The first phase of the scheme was launched in February 2019, and it covered all the states and Union Territories in the country. Under this phase, around 14.5 crore farmers were identified as beneficiaries of the scheme.

The second phase of the scheme was launched in December 2019, and it covered all the farmers who were left out in the first phase. Under this phase, around 2 crore farmers were identified as beneficiaries of the scheme.

Objectives of PM KISAN scheme

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is implemented as a central sector scheme by the Government of India. This scheme was introduced to augment the source of income of many small and marginal farmers. The main objectives of the PM-KISAN scheme are mentioned below:

  • To provide income support to all eligible land-holding farmers and their families.
  • PM-KISAN scheme also aims to supplement the financial needs of the farmers in procuring various inputs to ensure proper crop health and appropriate yields, commensurate with the anticipated farm income.
  • The scheme is expected to increase the coverage of PM-KISAN to around 14.5 crore beneficiaries. It aims to cover around 2 crores more farmers with an estimated expenditure of Rs. 87,217.50 crores that will be funded by the Central Government.
